1. Who we are
Photography Master is operated by 上海方山视界文化传媒有限公司 (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when we provide the Photography Master iPhone and iPad app and related customer support, and the choices available to you.
Privacy and support email: cuijun@fangshanvision.com.
2. Information processed by the app
Photography Master primarily processes and stores content on your device. The current version does not require an account and does not include developer-operated cloud sync, advertising tracking, third-party behavioral analytics SDKs, or cloud generative AI services. Features such as Light Lookup use local rules, calculations, or fixed reference information. The app does not automatically upload your creative content to our servers or model services.
Depending on the features you use, the app processes the following information on your device:
| Feature | Information and purpose |
|---|---|
| Project memos | Project names, dates, locations, contact details, notes, and star ratings you enter, to organize projects. Contact details are entered manually; the app does not read your system contacts. |
| Sun Scout | Device location and heading, manually selected locations, dates, times, time zones, place-search history, shooting plans, and AR photos, for sun calculations, maps, and planning. |
| Cinema Viewfinder | Camera previews, photos and videos you save, audio recorded with permission, capture times, equipment and framing settings, and imported LUT files, for framing simulation and records. |
| Teleprompter | Scripts you enter and display preferences, for editing, saving, and scrolling scripts. |
| Production Binder | Documents, tables, images, video attachments, annotations, and recovery copies you create or import, for viewing and editing on set. |
| Gear Library | Gear lists, quantities, notes, and project and contact information you enter, for organizing and exporting equipment lists. |
| Creative Notebook | Text, photos, audio, links, tags, groups, favorites, drafts, and recovery material. Inspiration-site opening times and counts are also stored locally for recent and frequently used lists. |
The app also stores language, appearance, and tool preferences locally, and processes file sizes, timestamps, and other information needed to save, import, export, or restore files. These local feature records are not behavioral analytics uploaded to us.
3. Permissions and choices
- Location: With permission, location and heading support sun calculations, your current location, and map-based planning while you use the relevant features. Precise location can improve calculations. If you deny permission, you can still select a location manually; location-following and heading calibration are limited.
- Camera: Used for viewfinder previews and capture, sun AR, and Creative Notebook photos. Denying permission prevents those camera functions but does not prevent features that do not need the camera.
- Microphone: Used for sound in viewfinder videos and Creative Notebook audio recordings. If denied, audio recording is unavailable; Cinema Viewfinder can still record silent videos.
- Add to Photos: Used when you choose to export photos or videos to the system photo library. Denying permission prevents that export without deleting records already saved inside the app.
Production Binder and Creative Notebook receive the items you select through the system photo picker, without requiring access to your entire photo library. File imports use the system file picker to access the files you select. Files stored in services such as iCloud Drive may need to be downloaded by the system.
You can change Photography Master's permissions in system Settings. Revoking permission affects future access; it does not automatically delete existing records, media, or exported copies. When you choose to copy an email address or link, the app writes the selected text to the system clipboard.
4. Network connections and other services
Maps and place lookup. Sun Scout uses Apple's maps, place search, and address-lookup services. These services may process search terms, queried coordinates, map areas, and device or network information needed to complete requests. Apple and relevant mapping providers handle this information under their policies. Sun calculations themselves run on your device. See Apple Maps & Privacy and Location Services & Privacy.
Purchases and Pro access. Pro offers monthly and annual subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. Payments are processed by Apple App Store. The app uses Apple StoreKit on your device to verify product identifiers, transaction and subscription status, validity periods, refunds or revocations, and the original app acquisition date used to determine launch-promotion eligibility. We do not receive your payment-card details, payment password, or Apple Account password in the app, and we do not operate our own purchase-verification server. Apple may process information needed for purchases, restoration, subscription management, and verification; see App Store & Privacy. The app uses signed records managed by StoreKit to restore access and stores a timestamp in the device Keychain to help detect clock rollback. This timestamp cannot itself grant membership and is not used for cross-app tracking.
External websites. When you choose to open an equipment website, inspiration site, or link in a note, the destination and browsing service may receive your IP address and device or browser information and use cookies. Photography Master does not automatically attach local scripts, photos, or recordings when opening a link. Consult the destination's privacy information.
Export, sharing, and backups. Only when you choose these actions is selected content passed to the apps, recipients, or storage locations you specify. Photos, documents, and backups may retain their original timestamps, location information, or other metadata; check them before sharing. Synchronization and storage after saving to Photos or a cloud drive depend on that service and your settings.
Company information pages. These privacy and support pages are hosted on Tencent Cloud. When you open them, the server processes the IP address, browser request headers, and other request information necessary to deliver pages and maintain service security. This information is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. The pages do not include account sign-in, creative-content upload forms, advertising, or behavioral analytics SDKs. Necessary operational and security logs are retained only as long as needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations.
Customer support and privacy requests. When you email support, we receive your email address, message, and attachments you choose to send, to respond, resolve issues, and fulfill related legal obligations. The app's help screen does not automatically send email or attach projects, scripts, photos, or recordings. Email providers also process transmission and storage. Support correspondence is retained only as long as necessary to handle your request and meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
We do not use support content for advertising or model training. We require service providers processing support information for us to limit processing to necessary purposes and apply appropriate safeguards. Where disclosure is legally required, we handle it only to the extent required by applicable law.
System backups and diagnostics. Apple's device backups, photo synchronization, and system diagnostics depend on your system settings and Apple's policies; they are not cloud services operated by Photography Master. Whether app data is included in system backups also depends on directory-level backup settings. Sun Scout's plan and AR-photo directories are currently excluded from ordinary system backups, so do not assume every record is automatically backed up. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Retention, deletion, and recovery copies
Ordinary projects, scripts, framing records, and gear lists have no common automatic expiry period. They generally remain until you delete the relevant content or the app. The app or system may remove temporary files and caches. Deletion and recovery differ by feature:
- Production Binder: Deleting a document moves it, including its source material, annotations, and attachments, to a recoverable area on your device rather than immediately erasing it permanently. The current version does not automatically expire these deleted documents.
- Creative Notebook: Ordinary deletion moves items to Trash. After you confirm and enable 30-day cleanup, items that have been in Trash for at least 30 days are permanently deleted when the module runs cleanup. Before you enable it, reaching 30 days alone does not trigger automatic deletion. Permanently deleting a note in the active library does not also erase older libraries retained during restoration, pre-restore backups, recoverable recording files, or copies you previously exported.
- History and backups: Some features retain drafts, a previous version, or recovery material to protect against accidental deletion or failed saves. Removing content from the current list therefore does not necessarily erase every historical copy. Full Creative Notebook backups may contain trashed content, drafts, original photos, and audio. Backup files are not encrypted; choose their storage locations and recipients carefully.
To remove all local app data, use the system's Delete App action. This removes local data for all Photography Master modules and recovery copies inside its app data directory. Offload App keeps documents and data and is not a substitute for deletion. Export anything you want to keep first. See Apple's explanation of deletion and offloading.
Deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription or delete purchase records held by Apple. The clock-rollback timestamp described above may also remain in the system Keychain. Manage subscriptions separately in your Apple subscription settings. Deleting the app does not automatically delete items in Photos, exported files outside its data directory, emails, cloud-drive files, system backups, or copies held by recipients. Manage those copies in their respective locations. Normal app updates generally retain local data.
6. Your rights and information security
Use the relevant app controls to view, edit, or delete content, existing export and backup features to obtain copies, and system Settings to withdraw permissions. For information you submit to support, you can email us to request access, correction, a copy, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law. We will verify requests where necessary and handle them under applicable law. We cannot remotely read, recover, or delete content stored only on your device through the support mailbox.
Local content relies on the operating system's app isolation, device access controls, and applicable storage protections. Protect your device unlock method and share exported files carefully. Once exported, copies are no longer protected by the access restrictions of the app's local data directory. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Minors should use the app with guidance from a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian with questions about information a minor has submitted to support, or who wishes to request its deletion, can contact us at the email address above.
7. Changes to this policy
When features or information handling change, we will update this policy and its revision date. For significant changes, we will provide notice as required and obtain authorization where necessary. This policy does not replace the privacy information of external websites, browsing tools, email providers, or other third-party services.
